About the position

As an Application Engineer in the Automotive sector, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our customers and our development teams. Reporting directly to the Regional Technical Director, you will be responsible for managing technical inquiries and providing design support to key customers. This position requires a strong understanding of both software and hardware aspects of our products, as you will be involved in various technical management activities, including leading customer workshops, conducting design reviews, and providing expert support for debugging and troubleshooting. You will also coordinate issue replication and resolution efforts between Field Application Engineers (FAEs) and product development teams, ensuring that customer needs are met effectively. Your role will involve onsite customer support as needed, where you will conduct specific measurements and characterizations to address customer requirements. Additionally, you will support regional test campaigns and develop blueprints, reference designs, example code, and demos tailored to regional needs. A significant part of your responsibilities will also include providing technical training to regional FAEs, enhancing their capabilities to support our customers effectively. Responsibilities

  • Lead key customers technical management and design support activities
  • Provide 2nd level support between Field Application Engineers and various R&D departments
  • Address technical questions and conduct investigations
  • Facilitate customer technical workshops
  • Conduct design review services for software and hardware
  • Offer expert support for debugging and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate issue replication and resolution between FAEs and product development teams
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to teams
  • Offer onsite customer support upon request
  • Conduct customer-specific measurements and characterizations
  • Coordinate and support regional test campaigns
  • Develop blueprints, reference designs, example code, and demos for regional needs
  • Provide technical training to regional FAEs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Several years of work experience in GPS/GNSS technologies, software engineering, Linux kernel, Android, or embedded systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in embedded hardware and software debugging on real-time operating systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Perl, and Python
  • Experience using embedded tools like emulators and JTAG-debuggers
  • Customer-oriented with the ability to understand system architecture and provide technical advice
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with subsidiaries and customers
  • Demonstrated initiative as a self-starter with strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Experience working in international multi-site teams within a global organization
  • Willingness to adapt to European time zones
  • Good English communication and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Previous experience in the automotive business
  • Ability to operate advanced GNSS test equipment such as simulators and RF signal generators
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies, particularly Bluetooth, WLAN, and NFC
