About the position

The Oracle/DB2 Database Lead position is a critical role within a Civil Program focused on IT integration services and modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for application DBA support, overseeing the full life-cycle database development on the DCPS program. This includes managing a team of DBAs, working with various database systems, and ensuring the integrity and performance of databases in a multi-platform computing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of DBAs for DB2/Oracle and modelers in creating and maintaining databases in development and validation environments.
  • Work with OLTP, data warehouses, and operational data stores, utilizing ERwin data modeling tools for logical and physical data models.
  • Analyze database changes requested by the application development team for impacts to interfacing systems, naming standards, design standards, and data conversions.
  • Create SQL scripts for conversion, reports, data analysis, and data corrections.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of Application DBA experience on Oracle Version 11g.
  • Experience with other Databases DB2/zos.
  • Experience with OLTP, data warehousing, and operational data stores and concepts.
  • Experience with Relation and Dimensional Modeling.
  • Experience with ERwin data modeling tools.
  • Experience with Data Analysis.
  • Experience with Oracle PL/SQL development.
  • Experience with creating Unix kornshell and SQL scripts.
  • Experience with data conversion strategies on various databases (Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience with database partitioning strategies on various databases (Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience with performance and tuning of applications on various databases (Oracle, DB2).
  • Experience with Oracle Administration Tools.
  • Experience with Oracle Real Application Cluster.
  • Proven leadership skills and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Quick learner and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
