About the position

The Senior Java Web Application Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting complex enterprise-level applications. This role requires extensive knowledge of JAVA J2EE, Section 508 testing standards, and strong communication skills to effectively convey project progress and issues. The position offers a flexible work schedule and involves working on advanced technological ideas and solving complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the analysis and determination of advanced technological ideas and develop them into final products.
• Apply advanced technical principles, techniques, theories, and concepts in development.
• Support management and customers by answering questions on advanced technical research studies and applications.
• Work on unusually complex technical problems and provide innovative solutions.

Requirements

• Experience with J2EE technologies such as Core Java.
• Familiarity with Web Service technologies such as SOAP or RESTful.
• Web development experience using Struts, JSP, CSS, or JavaScript.
• Experience with EJB, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate, or JPA.
• Strong XML processing experience.
• Proficiency in IDEs such as RAD or Eclipse.
• Experience with application servers such as WebSphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, or JBoss.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience developing JAVA applications interfacing with DB2 using SQL.
• Strong background in coding and testing Section 508 standards.
• Prior experience working with Social Security Administration (SSA) web applications.
• Well versed in SDLC, RUP, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with version control software such as MKS Integrity, CVS, Subversion, and VSS.
• Experience with user administration frameworks such as WebSphere Admin scripting using JYTHON, ANT, etc.
• Experience working with IBM Rapid Application Developer and Web Sphere Application server.
• Knowledge of JPA.
