About the position

The National Account Manager for Children's Sales at Hachette Book Group is responsible for driving sales of children's titles to major accounts, including Walmart, Readerlink, and Wholesale Clubs like Costco, Sam's, and BJ's. This role requires a customer-centric approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to present effectively, making this a highly visible position within the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing sales growth on frontlist and backlist titles throughout the year
  • Preparing and presenting all titles to the accounts on a regular basis by maintaining item set-up forms and using the vendor portal for data uploads in preparation for sell-in appointments
  • Communicating with the wider sales team and Publishing regarding account activity and strategy and reorders
  • Representing the account at all internal meetings including Launch, Strategy, Sales conference, and sales and marketing meetings
  • Running weekly and monthly sales reports, including point of sale, sell-in recaps, market share updates, and seasonal promotions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in an account management role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience with public speaking preferred
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and work on multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to work well under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
