This entry-level position is ideal for those seeking to start a career in a medical billing office. The role involves managing patient referrals and scheduling initial evaluations for new patients in a fast-paced call center environment.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming faxes and intake emails received.
• Sort referrals and clinic correspondence such as plan of care and medical records requests.
• Log and link patient referrals into the Referral Log Database.
• Scan miscellaneous correspondence into specific clinic folders on the network.
• Contact all new patients referred for PT/OT within 24 hours to schedule initial evaluations.
• Record all attempts to contact patients in the referral database.
• Make follow-up calls to patients not currently scheduled for initial evaluations.
• Reschedule appointments for patients who cancel or no-show for initial evaluations.
• Assist with intake emails regarding clinic requests.
• Scan and link insurance cards and verify that the information matches the insurance cards.
• Meet productivity requirements established for each function within the department.
• Answer telephones and direct incoming calls.
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in medical scheduling is required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to handle a high volume of calls and manage time effectively.
