Join Hunter Defense Technologies Inc, a leader in engineering, designing, and manufacturing cutting-edge military expeditionary products and rugged industrial/commercial products since 1937. As the New Product Development Manager in Supply Chain, you will play a crucial role in managing the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function for new product development projects. This position involves overseeing the Bill of Materials (BOM) from the quoting phase through the First Article Inspection (FAI) stage, ensuring that all components are sourced effectively and efficiently. In this role, you will accept and scrutinize supplier bids and proposals, ensuring competitive costs while determining expected lead times and developing schedules with critical milestones. Regular reporting will be essential to ensure that suppliers meet these schedules. You will also be responsible for selecting and developing sources based on thorough analysis, ensuring that current suppliers align with the sourcing strategy established by the commodity team. Your responsibilities will include providing direction regarding print/design review, technical publication, source selection, and price and terms negotiation for new products. You will monitor both short and long-term material requirements, developing and implementing effective plans to assure material availability and capacity at selected suppliers. Maintaining product costs within established goals for each component and overall BOM will be a key focus. Additionally, you will maintain an in-depth working knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems, including SAP, ERP, Bill of Material structure, Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), and Lean Manufacturing concepts. You will actively work to develop new qualified and cost-effective sources of supply when new services, processes, or components are identified, including strategic low-cost country initiatives. Ensuring that each BOM is loaded correctly into SAP and managing the approval process for new suppliers will also be part of your duties. You will be responsible for developing a Small Business Plan and adhering to it, as well as tracking BOM schedules and publishing monthly reports on parts that are on or behind schedule, including those at risk for delivery and cost.
