About the position

The New Product Development Operations Leader at W.L. Gore & Associates will play a crucial role in supporting the Aortic team within Gore Medical. This position involves representing Supply Chain as a Core Team member for new product development efforts, ensuring the development of end-to-end value streams for products in alignment with business and supply chain strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring stable, profitable, and scalable products and processes at launch, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the New Product Development (NPD) Supply Chain system requirements and key performance indicators to monitor progress and ensure execution towards reliable launch and reliable supply goals.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain & Process Architects to develop and ensure sustainment of manufacturability goals and key performance indicators for the product throughout the development life cycle ensuring an on-time launch with a reliable supply chain.
  • Drive the NPD project team to evaluate product and process design changes as the development effort evolves that may impact the supply chain requirements and take appropriate action to ensure SC objectives are aligned to business outcomes.
  • Ensure all supply chain teams understand NPD project team needs, timelines goals, and execute accordingly.
  • Collaborate with all functional and supply chain teams to align and integrate work to ensure the delivery of materials, components, products, equipment, and services, in alignment with mutually agreed project goals and milestones, strategies for leveraged capabilities, and business supply chain architecture.
  • Provide leadership to the Manufacturing Leader(s) and Engineers supporting the process development work in production relevant environment and low rate production pilot lines.
  • Identify commercialization and supply chain risks and drive appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Drive operational plans for life cycle scalability, launch readiness, and product commercialization across the end-to-end supply chain.
  • Maintain compliance with training expectations as required for this position.
  • Establish clear expectations of equitable and inclusive behaviors from Associates and act immediately to appropriately address negatively impactful or unfair behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an operation, supply chain, or technical emphasis OR a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in supply chain, engineering and/or manufacturing operations roles across product life cycles; including a minimum 2 years demonstrated effective cross-functional leadership and ability to influence across product lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining an inclusive work environment with clear understanding of equitable practices.
  • Demonstrated depth of knowledge of medical product supply chains.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design for manufacturability, lean manufacturing and problem-solving approaches, and the ability to apply this knowledge to supplier base, manufacturing, product & process design.
  • Demonstrated track record of clear decision making and organizational alignment.
  • Strong written/oral, organizational, data analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA and minimum of 10 years Supply Chain Leadership experience.
  • Experience identifying customer and business needs and translating to objective Supply Chain requirements and product development strategies.
