About the position

The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the Supply Chain Management (SCM) function for the project and Bill of Materials (BOM) from the quoting phase through the First Article Inspection (FAI) stage. This role involves accepting and scrutinizing supplier bids and proposals to ensure competitive pricing, determining expected lead times, and developing schedules with critical milestones. Regular reporting will be required to ensure that suppliers meet these schedules. The manager will select and develop sources based on thorough analysis, ensuring the use of current suppliers as determined by the commodity team’s sourcing strategy. A key responsibility will be the thorough analysis of all outside processing for High-Density Technology (HDT) and sub-suppliers. The manager will provide direction regarding print/design review, technical publication, interpretation, source selection, and price and terms negotiation for new products. Involving suppliers early in the design process is crucial to optimizing design and reducing costs. The manager will monitor both short and long-term material requirements, developing and implementing effective plans to assure material availability and capacity at selected suppliers. Maintaining product costs within established goals for each component and the overall BOM is essential. The manager must possess an in-depth working knowledge of computerized manufacturing systems, including SAP, ERP, Bill of Material structure, Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), and Lean Manufacturing concepts. The role also requires actively developing new qualified and cost-effective sources of supply when new services, processes, or components are identified, including strategic low-cost country initiatives. The manager will ensure that each BOM is loaded correctly into SAP and take a proactive role in the continuous improvement of SAP while maintaining data integrity and parameters. Additionally, the manager will manage the approval process for new suppliers, including Annual Reps & Certs, and develop BOM tracking for each part, publishing monthly reports to show parts that are on schedule or at risk regarding delivery and cost. Supporting, communicating, reinforcing, and defending the mission, values, and culture of the organization is also a critical aspect of this role, along with adhering to all quality and safety standards and supporting other projects as assigned.
