About the position

The New Product Development Sr. Manager/Director in Food Safety is responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive food safety programs for food and beverage companies. This role involves developing new e-learning courses and services, requiring a deep understanding of food safety regulations and industry best practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various internal stakeholders and clients, focusing on identifying market opportunities and addressing client needs to enhance product offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive food safety programs for food and beverage companies.
  • Create new e-learning courses and services related to food safety.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients on project-to-project basis.
  • Establish relationships with the new product development committee, operations, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Identify new market opportunities based on client conversations.
  • Develop instructional and training materials adhering to branding guidelines.
  • Present at webinars and public gatherings to promote product capabilities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify food safety hazards.
  • Evaluate and develop food safety programs for assigned customers.
  • Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies to stay informed on food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, including HARPC and HACCP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for conducting risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful food safety programs.
  • Certification in HACCP, HARPC, or other relevant food safety certifications is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with developing e-learning content for food safety training.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in food safety.
  • Previous experience in a consulting role related to food safety.
