About the position

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer position at Keysight involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and launch new test and measurement products. This role focuses on applying software and electrical engineering skills to design, develop, and validate automated tests for manufacturing processes, ensuring product reliability and performance. Located in Colorado Springs, the position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while enjoying the outdoor lifestyle of the area.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product designers to define and plan automated tests, measurements, and algorithms for manufacturing tests of new products.
  • Design and develop automated manufacturing tests for implementation into the production line.
  • Create automated tests for hardware performance characterization.
  • Review and validate datasheet specifications to ensure alignment with manufacturing test limits.
  • Collaborate with Production Engineers to transfer automated tests and supporting architecture to the production line.
  • Provide technical documentation including test support documents, troubleshooting documents, and training documents.
  • Turn on and troubleshoot boards and systems for prototype and early production builds.
  • Identify, configure, design, and document test stations for production.
  • Ensure Design for Test (DFx) by collaborating with the R&D team during all project phases.
  • Create performance characterization test plans and characterize new products under various conditions.
  • Review and evaluate production line specifications based on statistical data analysis and gain buy-in from partners.
  • Support the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with an Electrical Engineering Minor, or CE/EE double major, or equivalent degree combination emphasizing Software Engineering with Electrical Engineering.
  • Planned graduation in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025, or completed graduation within the last 18 months.
  • Classroom or work experience with software development and source control software (e.g., Git).
  • Experience with C#, C++, Python, or other object-oriented software development.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Understanding of Statistical Analysis.
  • Skills in analog and digital circuit analysis and design.
  • Experience with analog and digital measurement techniques.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment, specifically oscilloscopes and probes.
  • Desire to collaborate with cross-functional teams worldwide.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to create and execute project plans based on high-level objectives.
  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues effectively and work successfully in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and tolerance of ambiguity.
