About the position

Hexagon is seeking a skilled and experienced NPI Manager to lead the process of ensuring new products are ready for successful launch. The NPI Manager will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams to ensure that new products meet the specified requirements and satisfy customer's needs, are fully supported, and have appropriate marketing and sales campaigns prepared. This role requires strong project management, leadership, and technical expertise in product development, manufacturing processes, and supply chain management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the NPI process.
  • Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful product introduction through the three stages of NPI: Field Readiness, Operational Readiness, and Market Readiness.
  • Work with R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams to review and ensure product releases achieve product requirements and specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the NPI process to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and regular reporting mechanisms to track progress against integration milestones and KPIs.
  • Present updates to executive leadership, highlighting key achievements, ongoing risks, and recommended action plans.
  • Conduct post-introduction reviews to assess project performance, capturing lessons learned for future integrations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, Finance and supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the NPI process, implementing best practices to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies while maintaining product quality.
  • Ensure that all NPI activities comply with relevant industry regulations and company standards.
  • Manage the NPI Field Readiness trial process, ensuring products meet quality criteria before launch.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to plan and execute Field Readiness trials for new products, ensuring they meet validation criteria.
  • Track and manage Field Readiness trial outcomes, gathering feedback to guide final product adjustments and enhancements.
  • Liaise with sales, field operations and customer teams to secure trial sites and ensure successful product testing in real-world environments.
  • Manage the NPI Market Readiness process, ensuring Market Readiness of new product releases and upgrades.
  • Verify marketing and sales plans are prepared for product release.
  • Manage the NPI Operational Readiness process, ensuring Operational Readiness for product release by verifying inventory and logistics plans are prepared.
  • Work with customer success teams to prepare onboarding resources, ensuring a smooth experience for early adopters.
  • Lead cross-functional readiness reviews to confirm all teams are aligned and prepared for launch day.
  • Provide regular status updates and reports on the progress of NPI projects to senior management.
  • Document lessons learned, challenges, and improvements to refine future NPI processes.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the NPI team, product development, sales, and customer support to align expectations and resources.
  • Develop and maintain documentation and communication channels to facilitate knowledge sharing and transparency across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in NPI management, project management, product development, or related roles in manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional teams and delivering new products on time and within budget.
  • Strong experience in project management with knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Six Sigma).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Mining industry.
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO, FDA regulations).
