Newborn Care Specialist for Private Family

About the position

The Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) will provide exceptional overnight care for a newborn in a private family setting. This role is crucial for supporting the family during the early stages of the baby's life, ensuring the baby's health and well-being while allowing parents to rest. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of newborn care and demonstrate a nurturing demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, hands-on care for the newborn throughout the night
• Manage nighttime feedings, diaper changes, and soothing the baby back to sleep
• Monitor the baby's health and well-being, including maintaining logs of sleep, feeding, and diapering patterns
• Organize and restock baby supplies as needed
• Provide daily updates to parents on the baby's nighttime activities, milestones, and overall progress
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for the baby, ensuring all feeding equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready
• Identify and respond to any signs of illness or discomfort, communicating concerns to the parents promptly
• Ensure a calm, quiet atmosphere conducive to the baby's rest

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Newborn Care Specialist or similar role supporting private families
• CPR and First Aid Certification (pediatric focus preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Discreet, trustworthy, and highly professional
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the baby's and family's needs
