About the position
The News Data Software Engineer at Star Tribune Media Company LLC is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining the organization's News Data Systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the systems are state-of-the-art and meet the evolving needs of the company, contributing to the mission of connecting communities through journalism.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain News Data Systems.
- Enhance existing software components to improve functionality.
- Analyze code to identify and resolve errors.
- Conduct software code reviews and testing to ensure compliance with business requirements.
- Collaborate with teams using Agile development methods and scrum processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
- Five years of progressive software development experience.
- 24 months of experience analyzing code to find causes of errors and revising programs or systems.
- 24 months of experience practicing Agile development methods and scrum processes.
- 24 months of experience conducting software code reviews and testing.
- 24 months of experience designing, developing, and maintaining software components.
- 24 months of experience working with web application and programming languages, including PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, NodeJS, React Native, and GraphQL.
