About the position

You will have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of topics, including the sprawling U.S. banking system, new developments in consumer finance, and the giant pools of money reshaping corporate America, including private equity and hedge funds. Additionally, you will edit scoops about significant corporate deals and IPOs on a moment's notice. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable handling breaking news and editing ambitious long-form features. You should possess impeccable writing and editing skills, along with a knack for distilling complex ideas into simple terms and captivating stories. Creative ideas for telling stories in new ways and formats are essential, as is a keen sense of the Journal's audience and a laser focus on distinctive journalism. You will need to exercise news judgment under intense pressure and have a track record of handling breaking news on deadline. Furthermore, the drive to coordinate with teams across the newsroom to bring big stories to life is crucial for success in this position.
