About the position

WPDE has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented, and creative News Editor! This part-time position requires working in our office located in Myrtle Beach, SC. The working hours are Saturday and Sunday from 5 AM to 10 AM, and Monday and Tuesday from 3 AM to 8 AM. As a News Editor, you will play a crucial role in the production of daily news coverage, ensuring that all video content is edited to meet the high standards of our news broadcasts. You will also be responsible for running the prompter for the anchors during live broadcasts, which is an essential part of the news production process. This role demands a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with anchors, reporters, and producers to create compelling video elements for our newscasts, making your contributions vital to the overall success of our news programming.

Responsibilities

• Editing video for daily news coverage
• Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations
• Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts

Requirements

• High School degree and experience editing
• Knowledge of Avid editing technology is a plus
• Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
