About the position

Cascade PBS is seeking a journalism editor and leader to develop and grow its digital journalism efforts. This role focuses on in-depth investigative work and aims to create impactful longform journalism that holds those in power accountable. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas, collaborate with the current vision, and play a critical role in shaping the future of journalism at Cascade PBS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop digital journalism initiatives at Cascade PBS.
• Manage small to medium news desks effectively.
• Write and oversee newsletters.
• Utilize analytics to strategically develop content.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance journalism quality and impact.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience as a hands-on editor or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing small to medium news desks.
• Experience writing newsletters.
• Ability to use analytics for content development.
• Previous experience at a daily or weekly newspaper.
• Familiarity with digital news products, including social media, video, and podcasts.
• Knowledge of working with PBS or other nonprofit newsrooms.
