About The Position
NewsNation is seeking an experienced PART TIME Technical Director for our national newscasts, based in our Chicago headquarters. This role is crucial in ensuring that our broadcasts are fast-paced and highly produced, utilizing advanced technology such as Ross Overdrive, Ross XPression, and Ross XPression Tessera. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and switching video elements during both live and pre-recorded programming. This requires listening to the director's commands and reacting swiftly and accurately to ensure that all content output meets our high-quality standards. The Technical Director will also be expected to build switcher effects, create Ross templates, and shots, contributing creatively to enhance the final product. Additionally, there may be opportunities to train others or create training documentation, necessitating effective and concise communication with the rest of the team. The position demands flexibility, as all day parts—including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays—may be part of the schedule, with overtime required as situations demand. This role is integral to the success of our broadcasts, and the Technical Director will play a key role in maintaining the quality and creativity of our programming.
