As a Video Editor at FOX Television Stations, you will play a crucial role in shaping the narrative flow of our news projects. Your primary responsibility will be to edit video sequences for air under tight deadlines using advanced editing software. You will collaborate with colleagues to conceptualize and plan long-term news projects, ensuring that each piece is compelling and engaging from pre-production through to completion. Your expertise in high-end post-production editing will be essential, as you will perform tasks such as color grading, adding special effects, and audio mixing to enhance the storytelling of long-form news projects. In addition to editing, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of expertise in editing software, staying updated with the latest releases and features. You will also utilize software to restore and archive video for long-term storage, ensuring that all materials are preserved for future use. Updating scripts to reflect the running times of video sequences and coordinating with producers and writers about any discrepancies between written scripts and edited stories will be part of your daily tasks. You will prepare file video for field use as needed and assist the Editing Coordinator by managing feeds, restoring archived video, and ensuring that all elements in a rundown are ready before deadlines. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical skill, and organizational ability, as you will be working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical.
