CUMULUS MEDIA Albuquerque is seeking a dynamic Program Director for the legendary News Radio KKOB, which has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader who can engage with listeners and encourage them to participate in discussions on current topics, whether they agree or disagree with the station's viewpoints. The role also includes programming responsibilities for KNML The Sports Animal, the leading sports radio station in Albuquerque. As the Program Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that the station maintains a high-quality on-air sound while also being organized and efficient in your approach. You will work closely with voiceover talent to create compelling station imaging and promotions, and you will need to be adept at multitasking while focusing on the most impactful use of your time. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with air staff and various departments to produce engaging content. The position requires a creative and strategic problem solver who can produce compelling radio shows using independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, and broadcasting on-air content. You will also be expected to connect with listeners through various platforms, including social media, and to engage with them during live events. Daily social media engagement and digital content generation will be part of your responsibilities, along with participating in programming, promotions, and sales meetings. In addition to these responsibilities, you will handle emergency news and weather situations, ensuring that all logged commercials and programming elements are aired as scheduled. The role may also involve additional duties typical of smaller stations, such as production assistance and operating radio transmitters.
