About the position

As a Newsletter Editor at Bloomberg Industry Group, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier, industry-leading news to professionals across various sectors, including tax, legal, government, and business. Your primary responsibility will be to craft engaging newsletters that not only inform but also delight our audiences, ensuring they return day after day. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of newsletter journalists, working on a diverse range of products that span from breaking news to in-depth special projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to take ownership of the content that fills inboxes, making a significant impact on how our news is consumed and appreciated by our readers. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, pitching, executing, and promoting stories that resonate with our audience. You will coach reporters on how to uncover and develop compelling stories, assist in selecting feature ideas, and ensure that deadlines are met consistently. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to pitch ideas for multimedia content, including videos and podcasts, further enhancing the storytelling experience for our readers. Your work will be integral to the newsroom, influencing the direction of our content and the way we engage with our audience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Seven or more years of experience in journalism.
  • Exceptional curiosity and news judgment to unpack complicated legal and government actions.
  • Excellent editing and writing skills.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to manage change and influence others.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple stories and meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who sets high standards and leads by example.
