The ideal candidate will possess strong interviewing and research skills, a professional demeanor, and a passion for storytelling in the business sector.

Responsibilities

• Produce timely stories on short deadlines for a printed business magazine or newspaper.
• Conduct interviews with executive-level sources to gather information for articles.
• Create long-form, feature business articles that engage readers.
• Write business profiles, articles on technology and innovation, and statistical data pieces.
• Cover federal, state, and local government regulations and their economic impacts.
• Generate market financial and insurance news briefs.
• Develop insightful Q&A features with industry experts and executive leaders.
• Write comprehensive event feature stories on-location.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a newsroom or news organization as a business or hard news writer.
• A college degree in journalism with an emphasis in print media.
• Proven experience creating interesting prose on deadline.
• Expertise in Associated Press Style, spelling, and grammar.
• Strong interviewing skills, particularly with executive-level sources.
