About the position

As a Sales Associate at the NEX Dam Neck Main Store, you will serve as the face of our company, playing a crucial role in highlighting our brand and enhancing our reputation for valuing customer opinions. Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in recognizing their needs for our products and services. This role requires you to be knowledgeable about our offerings and to communicate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. A positive and outgoing demeanor is essential, as you will be engaging with customers and making a positive impact on the organization. In this position, you will proactively engage with customers, asking questions to understand their needs and directing them to merchandise while informing them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers. Providing premier customer service is a key expectation, and you will be responsible for building positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships with customers and colleagues alike. You will also maintain the store's appearance, ensuring it is organized and welcoming. Sales responsibilities include cross-selling products, making suggestions based on the latest trends and promotions, and upselling items to enhance the customer experience. You will need to stay informed about product features and trends, utilizing company tools and technology to provide customers with accurate product knowledge. Additionally, you will handle transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, processing various payment methods and ensuring accurate cash handling. Inventory management is another critical aspect of your role, as you will oversee merchandise, complete inventory processes, and ensure that products are properly checked in and ticketed. Dependability is vital, as you will need to adhere to your assigned work schedule and follow through on work assignments accurately and completely. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to business needs.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Retail experience preferred but not required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
