About the position
The Timekeeping Technician at the Navy Exchange Service Command is responsible for managing the timekeeping function, which includes maintaining, editing, reviewing, and completing time card information for payroll processing. This role ensures compliance with NEXCOM policies and facilitates accurate payroll processing for employees across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Perform full range of duties associated with timekeeping function.
- Maintain, edit, review, and complete time card information for payroll processing.
- Ensure timely processing of records including adjustments and journal entries.
- Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to submit time card information and resolve discrepancies.
- Make necessary timekeeping changes and corrections to individual records.
- Review and audit payroll information for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with NEXCOM pay rules and policies.
- Refer pay policy questions to Human Resources.
- Review and verify associates' work schedules and enter approved requests for time off.
- Provide timekeeping and payroll information to Managers and Supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of clerical or office work experience demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.
- One year of specialized experience in maintaining, editing, and submitting automated timekeeping information.
- Bachelor's degree can substitute for experience.

- Experience in financial analysis or accounting-related subjects.
