About the position
The Assistant Boys Basketball Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in training and developing student-athletes, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations, and maintaining necessary certifications. This role requires completion of specific coaching courses and adherence to state laws regarding health and safety for coaches.
Responsibilities
- Complete the NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching' course prior to assuming the position.
- Complete the 'First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches' course prior to assuming the position.
- Maintain a copy of the concussion certificate on file every year.
- Maintain a copy of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest certificate on file every year.
- Complete the 'NFHS Heat Illness Prevention' course when applicable, and keep a copy on file every year.
- Complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course when applicable.
