About the position

As an NFC Hardware Design Engineer at Apple, you will be part of the Wireless Hardware group, responsible for designing and implementing next-generation NFC solutions. This role involves improving product performance through innovative system-on-chip designs and ensuring seamless connectivity for customers. You will work on various aspects of hardware design, including specifications, performance testing, and manufacturability, contributing to the development of groundbreaking wireless systems.

Responsibilities

• Schematic Capture
• PCB Fit/Placement; drive PCB layout
• Bring-up/Bench testing designs and development hardware
• Radio Tuning and Matching
• Factory prototype build support and training (approximately 15% travel)
• Failure Analysis
• Communicating proactively with internal cross-functional teams (e.g. System EE/Integration, Product Design, Antenna Design)
• Communicating with outside vendors to help define components and drive technical issues to closure

Requirements

• Experience in hardware design and development for NFC solutions
• Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout
• Strong understanding of radio tuning and matching techniques
• Ability to conduct performance testing and failure analysis
• Experience in cross-functional team collaboration

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and emerging wireless technologies
• Experience with factory prototype build support
• Knowledge of component specifications and vendor communication
