About the position

The NFE Performance Architect at Fidelity Information Services is responsible for developing and implementing performance engineering strategies for Java/JEE applications. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance in a cloud environment. The architect will also lead initiatives for continuous integration and automation solutions, ensuring high performance across globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams and other architects to develop end-to-end performance engineering strategies and approaches.
  • Provide technical recommendations for system performance measurement and analysis, scalable architecture, and profiling/troubleshooting techniques.
  • Influence and apply the latest APM/tracing tools and work collaboratively with development teams to enable quicker resolution of performance issues.
  • Actively evaluate tools, frameworks, and technologies geared towards performance engineering.
  • Lead the change to support continuous integration with automation solutions for performance in the cloud.
  • Analyze performance results and troubleshoot to identify bottlenecks and potential optimizations.
  • Work across multiple, globally distributed teams to achieve performance goals.
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication, flexibility, teamwork, and leadership.

Requirements

  • 9+ years of experience in IT, including experience in performance engineering and tuning of Java/JEE applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent (BE/MCA).
  • Sound knowledge of High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR).
  • Experience with WebSphere, WebLogic, or JBoss.
  • Experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
  • Experience with MQ/SIBUS tuning.
  • Good knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in Performance Testing using open-source and commercial tools.
  • Experience in creating workload models.
  • Experience in Application Performance Management.
  • Experience in Capacity Planning & Management.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and root causing performance bottlenecks using tools like VisualVM, VisualGC, Perfstat, Oracle Enterprise Manager, JProfiler, and debugger.
  • Experience with native monitoring tools like nmon, sar, vmstat, iostat, top, etc.
