About the position

The Civilian Registered Nurse in the Neonatal ICU (NICU) at Brooke Army Medical Center is responsible for providing compassionate, patient-centered care to military families and civilian patients. This role involves working in a state-of-the-art Level III NICU, which is the largest joint-service NICU in the Department of Defense. The position offers a supportive environment with low patient ratios and a dedicated team, allowing nurses to reach their full potential in neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a team lead and preceptor for new staff
• Orientate new employees to the unit
• Respond to rapid response situations as needed
• Provide direct patient care in the NICU
• Collaborate with a team of LVNs and Techs to ensure high-quality care

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Valid Registered Nursing license from any US jurisdiction
• Current BLS and PALS certification
• Current NRP Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of full-time RN Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the past 4 years
