About the position
The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting all nightly audit-related duties while providing exceptional guest service at the hotel's front desk. This role involves balancing audit responsibilities, managing daily paperwork, and ensuring guest satisfaction during overnight shifts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nightly audit-related duties.
- Provide guest service at the front desk.
- Balance daily paperwork and shift reports.
- Attend to guest needs such as check-ins and check-outs.
- Make reservations and answer guest questions.
- Maintain guest security and create a safe work environment.
- Count cash and maintain accuracy of the cash drawer.
- Check the front desk log for problems and special requests.
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests.
- Process guest registrations and collect payments.
- Prepare express checkout folios.
- Maintain room status inventory.
- Communicate shift information to management and desk staff.
- Maintain cleanliness of the lobby and bathroom as needed.
- Ensure smooth transition of information to the following shift.
- Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure quality customer service.
- Answer inquiries about hotel services and local attractions.
- Explain in-room and hotel features.
- Complete required shift paperwork and night audit reports.
Requirements
- Previous experience in hotel front desk or customer service roles preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
- Proactive thinking and problem-solving skills.
