About the position
The Night Auditor at SpringHill Suites in Topeka, KS, serves as the first point of contact for guests during the overnight shift. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive guest experience by providing warm, knowledgeable service, managing check-ins and check-outs, and handling guest inquiries and requests. The Night Auditor is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and addressing any guest issues that arise during the night shift.
Responsibilities
- Check guests in and issue room keys.
- Provide information on hotel services and room locations.
- Ensure required identification is taken from guests at check-in.
- Answer phones promptly and courteously.
- Up-sell rooms to maximize hotel revenue.
- Record and process all guest calls, messages, requests, and concerns.
- Check guests out and resolve any late or disputed charges.
- Accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
- Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
- Communicate outstanding guest requests or issues to management.
- Solve guest problems/complaints using service recovery guidelines.
- Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any health and safety incidents or security breaches.
- Book guest reservations and process cancellations or revisions.
- Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including guest room tours and concierge services.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills.
- Computer skills for operating property management systems.
- Cash handling experience.
- Strong communication skills.
