About the position
The Night Auditor is responsible for assisting guests with their overnight requests while balancing accounts from the day shift. This role involves checking in guests, handling their requests, taking reservations, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, and preparing paychecks. The Night Auditor also ensures excellent customer service and smooth operations at the front desk and accounting functions, including preparing breakfast items for guests.
Responsibilities
- Check in guests, answer phones and take reservations
- Respond to guest complaints, requests and emergencies
- Process invoices, post checks to vendors and distribute employee checks
- Reconcile accounts
- Balance the cash drawer and log receipts
- Investigate and resolve out-of-balance accounts
- Keep accurate financial records and ledgers
- Warm up precooked hot breakfast items and have breakfast ready for breakfast hours.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Night Auditor or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry
- An eye for detail
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service skills
- The ability to multitask
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Availability to work overnight
Nice-to-haves
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of experience in Hotel & Accommodations Guest Services
- 1 year of hotel experience
