About the position

The Night Auditor is responsible for managing the front desk operations during the overnight shift, typically from 11 PM to 7 AM. This role involves preparing and processing all Night Audit work, registering guests, making reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security walks. The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel during the night hours, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Register guests and manage reservations during the overnight shift.
• Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of the day.
• Conduct security walks to ensure the safety of the property and guests.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming as per brand standards.
• Initiate and complete the End of Day process for Night Audit work.
• Run all required reports for Food and Beverage audit.
• Complete the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures daily.
• Maintain cashiering responsibilities according to Front Office procedures.
• Handle and follow through on all guest requests during the night shift.
• Train new Night Auditors as requested by management.
• Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as needed.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of Accounting Principles is necessary.
• Proficient in Windows operating systems and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot guest issues and emergency situations.
• Effective communication skills to convey information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred.
• College coursework in a related field is helpful.
