About the position

The Night Auditor at Hampton Inn & Suites is responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting, registering, and checking out guests. This role involves managing front desk operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The Night Auditor plays a crucial role in the hotel's efforts to deliver outstanding service and profitability, while also handling guest inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests, ensuring all guests sign the registration card and provide payment methods.
  • Answer, screen, and forward telephone calls, take messages, and manage reservations.
  • Address inquiries related to hotel services, local attractions, and travel directions.
  • Record guest comments and complaints, referring them to management as necessary.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to resolve guest-reported issues.
  • Maintain records of room availability and guests' accounts, posting charges using computer software.
  • Supervise guest access to safe deposit boxes and maintain room key control.
  • Verify banks and deposits each shift, adhering to cash-handling policies.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the front desk and adjacent areas.
  • Complete daily front desk communication log and transmit information to the General Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous hotel and hospitality experience preferred, but training is available for candidates from related fields.
  • Excellent communication, phone, and hospitality skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in property management systems is a plus, with training provided if necessary.
  • Understanding of hotel operating procedures and front office policies.
