About the position

The Night Crew Supervisor at Albertsons Companies plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency during night shifts. This position involves supervising and participating in all night crew activities, which includes direct communication with the Grocery Manager or Store Director. The supervisor is responsible for monitoring compliance with company policies, compiling department orders, and managing inventories. The role requires a hands-on approach to maximize sales, earnings, and customer satisfaction within the grocery department. In addition to overseeing the night crew, the supervisor assists the Grocery Manager in directing the overall operation of the grocery department. This includes training and supervising personnel, maintaining product quality, and ensuring that all products are rotated, stocked, and faced appropriately. The supervisor is also tasked with cleaning and dusting shelves, operating equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks, and maintaining a safe and sanitary working environment. The Night Crew Supervisor must also assist in planning and organizing merchandise requirements, ensuring cost control, and implementing company policies and practices. This role emphasizes the importance of customer service, vendor relations, and loss prevention, particularly during after-hours operations. The supervisor is expected to perform all duties with integrity and accuracy, contributing to a positive work atmosphere and a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and participates in all night crew activities to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Assists the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the grocery department.
  • Trains and supervises associates in all night crew activities, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains the quality condition of all products, including rotation and stocking.
  • Cleans and dusts shelves and maintains the backroom.
  • Operates related equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and ladders.
  • Assists in ordering, receiving, storing, and inventory control.
  • Implements company and division operating and merchandising policies and practices.
  • Controls shrink and prevents damage or sale of unsafe products.
  • Encourages a customer-focused atmosphere with fast and friendly service.
  • Handles positive vendor relations and implements loss prevention policies.

Requirements

  • Experience in grocery store operations or similar retail environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision during night shifts.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and inventory control procedures.
  • Physical ability to lift and maneuver objects up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
