About the position

The Night Houseman at Residence Inn is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the hotel property, guests, and employees during the overnight shift. This role involves continuous patrols of the hotel, handling maintenance requests, and maintaining cleanliness in guest and public areas. The Night Houseman also plays a crucial role in emergency situations and must adhere to security protocols while providing excellent hospitality to guests.

Responsibilities

• Make continuous patrols of hotel property to ensure safety and security.
• Handle cleanliness assignments and assist guests with maintenance requests.
• Prepare theft, incident, and accident reports as necessary.
• Manage undesirable persons without disrupting hotel operations.
• Handle associate injuries and report them properly in the absence of the Health Services Manager.
• Investigate accident areas and report findings.
• Serve as a fire watch and take necessary actions for property protection.
• Enforce Security SOPs, including no solicitation and employee entrance/exit rules.
• Maintain effective working relationships with other departments and employees.
• Patrol parking areas and report any unusual activity.
• Identify and report safety hazards, taking appropriate measures to alleviate problems.
• Know and assist in the hotel Emergency Operation Plan during emergencies.
• Maintain a current First Aid certificate and perform First Aid when necessary.
• Conduct physical hazard inspections when requested by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Fluent in English.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Ability to obtain a State Security License if required.
• Good physical and mental health.
• Strong judgment and self-motivation.
• Good communication skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to function under pressure and act independently.

• Experience in loss control or related fields.
• Good hospitality skills and ability to interact positively with guests.
