About the position
The Night Sanitation Worker at The Chefs' Warehouse is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in warehouse and office areas. This role involves various cleaning tasks, ensuring that the environment is safe and hygienic for all employees and operations. The position requires experience with stand-up electric forklifts and involves a range of duties from cleaning floors to monitoring building security.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in warehouse and office areas.
- Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Gather and empty trash, consolidating it for weekly pickup.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Clean walls, racks, and equipment.
- Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents or acids according to specifications.
- Use commercial cleaning equipment to clean and restore building interiors.
- Clean different surfaces using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Monitor building security and safety by locking doors after operating hours.
- Move furniture, equipment, and supplies manually or using hand trucks.
- Notify managers of the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snow blowers and shovels.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding for events.
Requirements
- Experience and/or certification with Stand Up Electric Forklift.
- Ability to follow safety and cleaning procedures.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks and move equipment.
