About the position

The Night Shift Field Service Technician position at Caspers Service Company is a critical role responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of commercial food equipment and appliances, HVAC systems, and refrigeration units. This position is non-supervisory and reports directly to the Field Service Manager. The technician will be expected to work the night shift from Monday to Friday, with the possibility of being called in on weekends and holidays as needed. In this role, the technician must be a Dual Technician, coordinating closely with the Field Manager to ensure consistency in service strategy and execution. Responsibilities include accurately diagnosing and repairing equipment, providing elite customer service, and effectively communicating service needs to customers. The technician will also be responsible for defining service problems, collecting data, and entering accurate information into a tablet, while maintaining a neat and orderly truck with a good inventory of parts and tools. Safety is paramount, and the technician must follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures at all times. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and a clear driving record. They should be highly safety-conscious, a team player, and able to work with minimal supervision. The role requires a customer-focused attitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with frequent changes. Additionally, the technician must establish and maintain good partnerships with customers across various geographies and cultures. Refrigeration technicians are required to obtain EPA certification within the first three months of employment. Responsibilities

  • Provide world-class customer service to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial food equipment and appliances, HVAC systems, and refrigeration units.
  • Coordinate with the Field Manager to ensure consistency in service strategy and execution.
  • Accurately diagnose and repair equipment while maintaining a neat and orderly service truck.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs and provide professional service.
  • Define service problems, collect data, and enter accurate information into a tablet.
  • Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a good inventory of parts and tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record.
  • Must be highly safety conscious and implement risk management skills.
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision with accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two years of education/experience in food service equipment repair or related area.
  • Background experience in gas, electricity, plumbing, and/or steam repairs.
  • Strong experience in commercial HVAC and refrigeration.
  • Knowledge or experience with computer systems and tablets.
