Night Stock Assistant Manager

About the position

The Night Stocker at Hy-Vee plays a crucial role in ensuring that the grocery department is well-stocked and organized, contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers. This position involves unloading products, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service, all while adhering to company guidelines and maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, making an effort to learn and address them by name.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and noting customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, runs overstock on risers, and rotates product.
• Monitors for miss-picked items and reviews product outs and wrong deliveries.
• Organizes stock for efficiency, cleans, and restocks damaged items.
• Tags shelves with overstock and reports new items for system input.
• Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
