The Night Stocker position is a vital role within our grocery department, responsible for ensuring that our shelves are stocked and organized for our customers. This position involves unloading products, opening containers, stocking shelves, and rotating products as necessary to maintain freshness and availability. The Night Stocker will work during the night shift, contributing to the overall efficiency of the store operations while providing excellent customer service. As a Night Stocker, you will be expected to provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting care, concern, and patience in all customer interactions. You will greet customers with a smile and assist them in locating products, loading or unloading heavy items, and addressing their suggestions or requests. Teamwork is essential in this role, as you will collaborate with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. In addition to customer service, your primary duties will include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, organizing stock for efficiency, and maintaining cleanliness in the department. You will also monitor for miss-picked items and report any discrepancies to the scanning coordinator. Adherence to company policies and guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress is crucial, as is punctuality and reliability in reporting to work as scheduled. This position may also require assisting in other areas of the store as needed, performing job-related duties and special projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
- Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading or unloading heavy items.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to customers who call.
- Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, and rotates products.
- Monitors for miss-picked items and reviews product outs and wrong deliveries.
- Organizes stock for efficiency and cleans/restocks damaged items.
- Tags shelves with overstock and reports new items for system input.
- Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a grocery store environment is a plus.
