About the position

The Night Stocker at Hy-Vee plays a crucial role in ensuring that the grocery department is well-stocked and organized during night shifts. This position involves unloading products, stocking shelves, and providing excellent customer service to enhance the shopping experience. The Night Stocker is expected to work collaboratively with team members and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the store.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
• Greets customers in a friendly manner and makes an effort to learn their names.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, and loading or unloading heavy items.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service to customers who call.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, and rotates products as necessary.
• Monitors for miss-picked items and reviews product outs and wrong deliveries.
• Organizes stock for efficiency and cleans/restocks damaged items.
• Tags shelves with overstock and reports new items for system input.
• Maintains adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
