About the position

As a Night Warehouse Worker at The Chefs' Warehouse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse. Your primary responsibilities will include picking, packing, assembly, sorting, shipping, and receiving of orders to meet the facility's productivity and quality goals. You will be part of a team that is dedicated to providing the world's greatest ingredients to the world's best chefs, and your work will directly impact our ability to serve our customers effectively. In this position, you will read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine the items that need to be moved, gathered, or distributed. You will be responsible for moving materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designated areas. Sorting and breaking down products by SKU, quantity, and product type will be a key part of your daily tasks. You will also need to operate an electric pallet jack and a stand-up forklift, as well as ascend 25 feet on a cherry picker while wearing a safety harness. Effective communication with Receivers, Drivers, Driver Check-in, and Forklift Operators is essential to ensure smooth operations. You will adhere to proper safety practices for the truck and trailer pull process on a daily basis and will be responsible for sorting and storing goods in designated areas of the warehouse. Proper handling of all company-issued equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and voice equipment, is required, and you will need to report any safety concerns in a timely manner. Additionally, you will assemble customer orders from stock, label pallets with identifying information, and open bales, crates, and other containers as necessary. This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities

  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or moves orders to loading dock to prepare for shipping.

  • Opens bales, crates, and other containers when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jack and stand-up forklift.
