About the position

**Job Overview:** We are seeking a highly skilled Lighting Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting lighting systems in our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lighting technologies and be able to work independently or as part of a team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. **Responsibilities:** The Lighting Technician will install and maintain various lighting systems, including LED, fluorescent, and halogen lighting. They will troubleshoot lighting issues, such as flickering or dimming lights, and resolve problems promptly. Routine maintenance tasks will include replacing light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, and checking for any signs of wear and tear. The technician will collaborate with other technicians to ensure that lighting systems are properly integrated with other building systems and will work closely with the facilities team to ensure that lighting systems meet the needs of the building and its occupants. Keeping accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain lighting systems, including LED, fluorescent, and halogen lighting.
  • Troubleshoot lighting issues, including flickering or dimming lights, and resolve problems promptly.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, cleaning fixtures, and checking for any signs of wear and tear.
  • Collaborate with other technicians to ensure that lighting systems are properly integrated with other building systems.
  • Work closely with the facilities team to ensure that lighting systems meet the needs of the building and its occupants.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of lighting technologies, including electrical and mechanical aspects.
  • Experience with lighting systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, including Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and VPN technology.
  • Experience with desktop support and mobile devices.
  • Experience with firewalls and service management platforms, such as ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with programming and operating DMX lighting systems.
  • Experience managing audio-visual setups in a live event environment.
  • Comfort with troubleshooting network issues during an event.
  • Experience with POS systems, such as Toast POS.
