About the position

The Program Manager is a senior-level administrator responsible for overseeing the administrative aspects of a Cooperative Agreement between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Georgetown University. This role involves managing a project that will employ over 100 researchers across various scientific and technological fields for a duration of five years. The Program Manager will work closely with the PREP Coordinator and will be involved in program development, implementation, evaluation, and financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee administrative aspects of the Cooperative Agreement between NIST and Georgetown University.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor program services.
  • Assist in strategically designing and implementing program evaluations.
  • Analyze results and make recommendations for program enhancements.
  • Assist in developing budgets and managing workflow of less senior administrative and program staff.
  • Apply professional-level functional knowledge to solve moderately complex problems.
  • Take action to resolve routine problems/issues in assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Interact with various campus offices regarding financial accounting and hiring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher; advanced degree in Accounting, Management, or similar field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of administrative experience in a university environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of MS Excel, including macro development and pivot tables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Acrobat, and website design.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects to deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial accounting, human resources, post-award grant administration, communications, and web design within a university environment.
  • Experience with institutional financial and management systems such as Workday and Box.
  • Experience using social media.
  • Experience supervising administrative staff.
  • Sponsored Project Management experience.
