New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), a subsidiary of New Jersey Resources, is currently seeking an Electrician to join our team in the Wall, NJ office. This position is critical to our operations, focusing on the installation and troubleshooting of various electrical systems and components. The Electrician will be responsible for working with generators, remote terminal units (RTUs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), transmitters, and electronics, as well as natural gas heaters. The role involves commercial wiring in and around gas transmission stations, ensuring that all electrical work meets safety and regulatory standards. The Electrician will engage in all phases of electrical work, including 480/277V, 240/120, and low voltage wiring. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of electrical experience, with a focus on both commercial and residential wiring. Additionally, knowledge of generator installation and troubleshooting, as well as electronic calibration skills, are essential for success in this role. As this position is deemed safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's (PHMSA) regulations, the Electrician will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing. It is important to note that the use of marijuana is disqualifying for this position, and testing positive will lead to removal from safety-sensitive functions and potential disciplinary action. The Electrician must also possess excellent customer service and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail, and must be self-motivated and capable of working independently.
