About the position

Leidos is seeking a NJUNS (National Joint Utilities Notification System) Specialist to work out of our Framingham, MA office. This role has the potential to be remote for someone in New York, provided they possess the right experience. The primary duties of this position will involve reviewing National Grid's SharePoint of NJUNS tickets to confirm that the tickets listed are active and in correct standing. The specialist will utilize National Grid's GIS system as well as Leidos' proprietary data collection software to accurately fill out all information on NJUNS tickets. Additionally, the role includes the creation of National Grid work packages when there are next actions that require a construction crew to perform work. This process involves assembling a design in the GIS system, creating a bill of materials, preparing any associated paperwork required (such as digsafe and environmental permitting), and delivering the completed package to National Grid. The position offers an opportunity to grow into more distribution design work, which may include third-party attachers, inspection and maintenance, grid modernization, and capital project work. The specialist will be expected to work in both field and office settings, performing structural analysis, guying calculations, and calculations of electric demand. Local customer/job-related travel is anticipated and will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates. Candidates should have relevant utility experience in the distribution or communication space and be well-versed in NJUNS, including creating, identifying, addressing, and closing out tickets as well as navigating the site. Reliable transportation is also a requirement for this role.
