About the position

The Cognitive Computing Team at Exiger is a distributed group of experienced software professionals specializing in various fields. Our flagship product, DDIQ, leverages machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to analyze and consolidate a wide range of data, providing a comprehensive view of entities. As an NLP Java Developer, you will be directly involved in the development and enhancement of this product, addressing day-to-day application development challenges and scaling issues. We adopt agile methodologies, allowing us to iterate quickly and collaboratively to ensure the system remains maintainable and performs optimally. In this role, you will be responsible for developing high-quality software using Java and related frameworks. You will utilize and develop NLP techniques to tackle real-world problems in both English and foreign languages. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing algorithms for natural language understanding, participating in collaborative brainstorming and planning sessions, conducting design and peer reviews, and proactively identifying areas for improvement. Effective communication practices across development teams and with business leads will also be a key aspect of your role.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software using Java and related frameworks.
• Utilize and develop NLP techniques to address real-world problems in foreign languages and English.
• Design and develop algorithms for natural language understanding.
• Participate in R&D collaborative brainstorming and planning sessions.
• Conduct design and peer reviews.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations.
• Promote effective communication practices across development teams and with business leads.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience with Java and Java frameworks.
• Experience or strong interest in learning NLP feature engineering and modeling (e.g., text classification, entity recognition, entity matching, dependency parsing).
• Strong competencies in data structures and software design.
• Exceptional analytical skills to understand problems, identify root causes, and resolve issues.
• Knowledge of Python Machine Learning techniques and Generative AI is a plus.
• Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and related technologies is a bonus.
• Must be a US citizen due to sensitive nature of the work.
