About the position

The NOC Technician I position at All Points Broadband involves diagnosing and resolving network issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and collaborating with the IT team to enhance network performance. The role is critical in ensuring a stable, fast, and secure network environment, focusing on network monitoring, incident response, and technical support for field operations.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve network issues in the network operations center.
  • Maintain and optimize network infrastructure performance.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools to identify and address network-related issues on Fiber and Wireless Networks.
  • Add new network elements to network monitoring tools.
  • Monitor VMware and report issues to engineering.
  • Manage and optimize unlicensed spectrum (RF Optimization).
  • Configure, change, and optimize network device configurations.
  • Provide technical support to Field Construction and Operations teams.
  • Communicate with area Field Managers regarding wireless network performance and quality issues.
  • Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure timely resolution.
  • Report outages for all Fiber Circuits using vendor tools or phone calls.
  • Complete build sheets with necessary information for infrastructure work.
  • Coordinate and schedule network activities with Field Ops and Engineering.
  • Interface with 3rd party after-hours support on network-related issues.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience configuring BGP and MPLS.
  • Working technical knowledge of SIP and VoIP.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network routing issues.
  • Experience configuring firewall rules, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Ability to program in an administrative language (e.g., Perl, Python, VBScript, Windows PowerShell).
  • Working technical knowledge of a Networking CLI (Juniper, Cisco, or Mikrotik).
  • Ability to troubleshoot radio frequency interference.

  • Experience with network monitoring tools.
