About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Node JS Backend Developer to join our team for a 6-month contract position with the potential for extension. This role is hybrid, allowing candidates to work from multiple locations including Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, or Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in JavaScript, NodeJS, and REST APIs, which are essential for this position. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable Node.js back-end services. You will be responsible for writing clean, well-structured code and ensuring the implementation of unit tests using relevant testing frameworks. A strong hands-on experience in SQL and Hibernate with any RDBMS such as Big Query, Oracle, or MySQL is required. Additionally, you should have experience building microservices and be well-versed in both private and public cloud technologies. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of architecture and data-driven development, and will be able to work closely with designers to develop dynamic user experiences. A strong sense of ownership and the ability to balance urgency with high-quality shipping and pragmatic solutions are crucial. You will be working in an agile environment with sprint-based work cycles, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable Node.js back-end services.
• Write clean, well-structured code and ensure the implementation of unit tests using relevant testing frameworks.
• Build and maintain microservices architecture.
• Manage source code with GIT, including branching and merging.
• Work with both private and public cloud technologies.
• Develop dynamic user experiences in collaboration with designers.
• Maintain production applications and ensure high-quality shipping of features.

Requirements

• 8-10 years of working experience with JavaScript, NodeJS, and REST APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience in SQL and Hibernate with RDBMS like Big Query, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
