About the position

The Non CDL Driver I position at US Foods involves transporting deliveries, loading and unloading products, and ensuring accurate documentation of deliveries. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to operate delivery vehicles safely while adhering to company policies and safety regulations. This position is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction through timely and accurate deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
• Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
• Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including going up and down stairs as necessary.
• Accurately record delivery information using a hand scanner and complete all required documentation.
• Handle the proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
• Communicate delivery and customer issues to the appropriate authority.
• Deliver products to designated stops following the provided stop sequence.
• Unload products safely and stage them in designated spaces by the customer.
• Check invoices for complete delivery and process paperwork for damaged merchandise if necessary.
• Collect payments if required.
• Monitor the refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle and follow safe food handling procedures.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with proper endorsements if required.
• No more than two traffic violation convictions in the past two years, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver's license suspensions in the past three years.
• Ability to pass DOT physical examination.
• One year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred or six months of local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with hand cart delivery preferred.
• Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities.
• Great interpersonal/customer service skills.
