About the position

This position supports data collection, analysis, and interpretation across various activities related to drug development within Pfizer's collaboration group. The role involves participating in study design, statistical analysis, and education initiatives, as well as promoting statistical excellence and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the study design, analysis, reporting, and interpretation of applicable studies.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline colleagues to plan meaningful studies and communicate/document results.
  • Develop and teach courses on statistics, regression analysis, machine learning, and AI topics to non-statistics collaborators.
  • Develop automated statistical/data solutions to increase efficiency in study conduct and reporting.
  • Research statistical, AI/ML, and informatics methodologies and their applications to business needs.
  • Partner with data science/computational groups to identify optimal solutions to scientific problems.
  • Promote an effective network with other Pfizer statisticians and data scientists.
  • Champion statistical influence and ensure statistical support for all projects and products.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts across Pfizer.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Statistics, Data Science, Biostatistics, or equivalent degree with practical experience (e.g., internship).
  • Statistical knowledge in descriptive and inferential statistics, general linear models, mixed models, and statistical experimental design.
  • Data science/AI knowledge in Feature Extraction/Engineering, Exploratory data analysis, and Machine Learning methods.
  • Superior computational skills in SAS, R, Python, or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Statistical/Quantitative consulting experience.
  • Strong scientific background in biology, chemistry, pharmacology, or toxicology.
  • Experience in machine learning/AI, including Image Analysis and Natural Language Processing.
  • Experience analyzing high-dimensional data.
  • Flexibility to balance multiple projects and customers simultaneously.
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and independently.
  • Aptitude to identify and understand relevant scientific literature.
