About the position
The Non-Credit Instructor for Industrial Manufacturing/Mechatronics is responsible for teaching non-credit courses to adult learners in various topics related to the field, including Mechanical Components, Industrial Electricity, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, and PLC (Programmable Logic Control). This part-time position requires the instructor to deliver classes at multiple locations in western Pennsylvania, following the designated Workforce Development curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Provide non-credit classroom/virtual instruction using provided curriculum.
- Identify student performance problems as they surface and consult with staff for resolution of the problem.
- Assist other non-credit instructors and school administrators with course development, coordination, and maintenance.
- Provide feedback to students and complete program evaluations.
- Maintain daily attendance records.
- Secure materials needed for instruction.
- Develop lesson plans; prepare assignments, supplemental teaching materials, sample tests, etc.
- Attend instructor orientation, training, and professional development as required.
Requirements
- Formal related training or education, or 5 years on-the-job experience.
- 5 years related experience.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge, expertise and certification in the trade area.
- Ability to provide instruction in subject area for which hired.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Strong observation and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Functional ability with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.

Benefits
